GUJRANWALA: Many citizens were looted in different areas of the city in more than a dozen incidents on Saturday.
In the limits of Sadar Wazirabad police station, three armed men intercepted Gulfan and stole Rs 40,000, a cell phone and various gold ornaments from him. Similarly, in Emanabad, bandits snatched Rs 27,000, a locket set and a cell phone from Fareed.
Robbers also stole Rs 50,000, a cell phone and various gold ornaments from Aslam in Kot Ladha.
Moazam was intercepted by bandits in Saddar area and stole Rs 35,000, a cell phone and a gold chain from him. Similarly, in Ali Pur Chatha, Faisal was robbed on gun point by bandits who stole Rs 75,000 and three cell phones from him.
In another incident in Tatlewali, bandits intercepted Akhter and snatched Rs 47,000 and a cell phone from him. In Satellite town, Rs 22,000, a motorcycle and a cell phone were snatched from Rahat.
Similarly, in Model Town, Habib was intercepted and Rs 18,000 and a cell phone were stolen from him.
Near Ahmed Nagar, armed men intercepted Shabbir and snatched Rs 60,000, a locket set and cell phone from him.
Not only men but women were also looted by bandits. In one such incident, Rs 22,000, various gold ornaments and a cell phone were stolen from a woman in People’s Colony.
In Ferozwala, Azam was looted by armed men who took away his new motorcycle. In a similar incident in city’s Kamoki area, Alam Khan was held on gunpoint and was deprived of Rs 35,000 and two cell phones.
In Satellite area of the city, robbers snatched Rs 32,000, two cell phones and a gold ring from Nasir.
In another incident near Tatlewali, Adil was intercepted by armed men who took away Rs 72,000 and two cell phones from him.
At Wahndo, bandits snatched Rs 47,000, two cell phones and various gold ornaments from Ahmed Awan.
In another incident in Ali Pur Chatha, dacoits took away Rs 50,000, three cell phones and various gold ornaments from Aleem.
At Jinnah Road, Abdul Sattar was held at gun point by dacoits who stole Rs 23,000, a cell phone a gold chain from him. In the same area, Bilal was deprived of Rs 17,000 and a cell phone.
In multiple incidents, thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and various other valuables from the houses and shops of Mohsin, Noor Ahmed, Abid Ejaz and Naeem.
Farooq’s car and Imran and Gulzar’s motorcycles were also stolen from different places in the city.
The police had registered the cases on behalf of the victims.
Man shoots aunt dead: A man killed his aunt over a money dispute in Shaheen Abad. The man was said to have exchanged harsh words with her aunt over money issues and shot her. The woman died on the spot. The police started an investigation.
Man tortures wife: A man tortured his wife over a domestic issue in Khiali. The woman was then taken to DHQ Hospital for treatment. Speaking at the hospital, Saba said her husband, Asad, tortured her with sticks and tried to kill her. She sustained two major injuries on her head and nose. The police started an investigation.
1 dead, 1 injured: In a road accident on GT Road, a girl died while her brother was left injured.
It was reported that Aqsa, a Masters student, was going to college with her brother when a tractor trolley hit their motorcycle. Saba died on the spot while her brother sustained major injuries. The injured and the deceased’s body were taken to DHQ Hospital.
Man axes brother to death: A man killed his younger brother after a quarrel over a minor issue in Ladhewala Warraich. Police reported that Asgher attacked his younger brother, Owais, with an axe, killing him on the spot. The police arrested Asgher and started an investigation.
