Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan lamented on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s actions and said the ‘Hindustan of Nehru and Gandhi seems to have disappeared’.
In a series of tweets, she said Pakistan was the country of all Pakistanis, where there was no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and religion.
She said that today, India, which was created in the name of secularism, had been thrown into flames of prejudice and hatred.
She said the minorities were staging protests as they were being deprived of their basic right of citizenship by India.
She said the Indian society was under the siege of Hindutva and the minorities were being subjected to the worst kind of oppression and persecution.
She said Pakistan was being transformed according to Quaid-i-Azam’s vision under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
She said all the minorities in Pakistan had the right to lead their lives as per their religion and the constitution of Pakistan was the guarantor of their rights.
Firdous said the opening of Kartarpur Corridor by Pakistan was a bright example of interfaith harmony and testimony to the fact that Pakistan was a peaceful country.
She said that through the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), discriminatory steps were being taken to deprive the minorities of Indian nationality.
