KARACHI: A doctor was shot dead in Karachi on Thursday night by unidentified men. Police held over a dozen suspects in overnight raids.
Dr Zulfiqar was called out by two unidentified men from his house in Kharadar where he was shot at. The shooting did not kill the doctor on the spot and he was taken to Civil Hospital.
But due to the lack of facilities at Civil Hospital, Dr. Zulfiqar was shifted to a private hospital where he gave in to his injuries and died.
Dr. Zulfiqar used to run a clinic in Khadda Market.
In the meanwhile, police carried out various searches in Upper Gizri, Mominabad, Mangopir and Steel Town Areas and rounded up 88 suspects from the areas.
iIn another raid in Lyari’s Sango Lane area, police nabbed a gangster affiliated with Uzair Baloch group.
All suspects have been moved to various police stations for interrogations
