QUETTA: Balochistan government claimed to have arrested the reported mastermind behind several major terror-related incidents in the provincial capital on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti stated that an additional two colleagues of the suspect in question were also arrested by security forces.
“The main suspect is the commander of a banned militant group,” he said.
According to a video confession that was played to brief journalists present at the press conference, the suspect Saeed Ahmed alias Taqva said that he was trained by Indian and Afghan intelligence agencies.
He also admitted to being behind the killings of a law college’s principal Barrister Amanullah Achakzai, Bilal Anwar Kasi; and Balochistan Bar Association President, among others.
The suspect even confessed to aiding terrorists in the Civil Hospital suicide bombing that took place on August 8, 2016, which reportedly took the lives of more than 70 people including 54 legal fraternity members.
