Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmad, on Wednesday took oath as the Supreme Court (SC) judge. According to news sources, Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa administered the oath to Justice Ahmad at a ceremony held in Islamabad. The top court’s judges and lawyers were also present on the occasion. His inclusion has raised the number of SC judges to 17. The judge was recommended by the judicial commission and later approved by President Arif Alvi for the post. Previously, Justice Ahmad had served as judge of Lahore High Court (LHC) from November 2014 to March 2019. Earlier in last February, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was sworn in as the judge of the apex court. The then CJ Mian Saqib Nisar had administered oath to him at a ceremony held in the federal capital. SC judges, Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf, Advocate Generals and a large number of senior lawyers had attended the ceremony.
