Indian police have arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik in the occupied Kashmir.
According to the reports, the arrest was made ahead of the local bodies elections in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

A police party raided the Malik’s office and arrested him, a JKLF statement read.
Kashmiri leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called for a complete boycott of the elections.
Moreover, a complete shut down and demonstrations are also being observed in IoK’s Kulgam district.
It is to be mentioned here that the police started conducting raids at the residences of eminent Kashmiri leaders a couple of days after Indian army opened fire at the helicopter of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) prime minister near the line of control.
